The Gold Standard
Our currency used to be tied to the amount of gold we owned. We had a standard to which we could measure the value of the dollar. That has changed and the dollar has no real basis for its value.
Morally, ethically, spiritually ... mankind once held to a standard as well. The Bible used to be the standard by which we measured our lives. That too is increasingly diminshing in our culture today.
